Ingredients

1 cup mashed ripe bananas

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)

1/2 cup brown sugar (for frosting)

3 tablespoons heavy cream

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup powdered sugar


Instructions

1. Mash bananas in a bowl. Add butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

2. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir into the banana mixture until just combined.

3. Pour batter into a greased 9×13 inch pan and bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.

4. For frosting: melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan. Simmer for 2 minutes. Add cream and salt, stir well.

5. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar until smooth. Let cool slightly.

6. Spread frosting on cooled bars, slice, and serve.
