Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup milk
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

8 oz cream cheese, softened
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 egg yolk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Blueberry Swirl:
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
Topping:
Powdered sugar for dusting
Extra fresh blueberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and melted butter, stirring until a dough forms. Knead briefly, then roll into a 12×9″ rectangle.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over the dough.
- In a small saucepan, heat blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice until bubbling. Add cornstarch slurry and cook until thick. Cool slightly, then drizzle over the cream cheese.
- Roll up the dough from the long side. Slice into 1 to 1.5 inch rolls. Place in a greased muffin tin or dish.
