Ingredients

For the Dough:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup milk

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Cheesecake Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 egg yolk

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Blueberry Swirl:

1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Topping:

Powdered sugar for dusting

Extra fresh blueberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and melted butter, stirring until a dough forms. Knead briefly, then roll into a 12×9″ rectangle.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over the dough.
  4. In a small saucepan, heat blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice until bubbling. Add cornstarch slurry and cook until thick. Cool slightly, then drizzle over the cream cheese.
  5. Roll up the dough from the long side. Slice into 1 to 1.5 inch rolls. Place in a greased muffin tin or dish.
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden. Let cool slightly.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar, garnish with blueberries, and serve.
