Perfect for cookie swaps, festive gatherings, or just a quiet night in with a cup of hot cocoa. Whether you’re looking for quick dessert ideas, fun holiday snacks, or a cozy treat for the family, this easy recipe has you covered. Packed with classic hot chocolate flavor, these cookies deliver nostalgia and comfort in every chewy bite.

Ingredients

113 g unsalted butter, softened

200 g granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

130 g all-purpose flour

60 g unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-processed)

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

12 large marshmallows, halved

120 g semi-sweet chocolate chips

60 ml heavy cream

festive sprinkles, optional

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Cream the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until fluffy.

3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix until fully combined.

4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.

6. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough onto the baking sheets, spacing evenly.

7. Bake for 10 minutes, then press a halved marshmallow into each cookie.

8. Return to oven for 2 more minutes, just to soften the marshmallows.

9. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips with heavy cream in 30-second bursts, stirring in between, until smooth.

10. Spoon chocolate glaze over the marshmallows and immediately top with sprinkles.

11. Let cookies cool on a wire rack until the glaze sets.

Notes

For perfectly melted marshmallows, don’t overbake in step 8—just 2 minutes is enough.

Let the glaze set fully before stacking or storing cookies to avoid sticking.
