Ingredients
16 oz lump crab meat
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp oil or butter for frying
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, gently combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, and pepper.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and Old Bay seasoning.
3. Pour the wet mixture into the crab mixture and gently fold to combine.
4. Form into 6–8 patties and place on a baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
5. Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
6. Cook crab cakes for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
7. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with lemon wedges or your favorite sauce.
Notes
For best texture, avoid overmixing the crab mixture.
Chilling the patties before frying helps them stay together in the pan.
