Ingredients

6 large eggs

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1⁄3 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1⁄2 cup heavy cream (for soaking)

1 cup heavy cream (for topping)

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for topping)

1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Fresh strawberries or mint, for garnish


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan.

2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar on high until pale and tripled in volume.

3. Sift flour and baking powder into the egg mixture. Fold gently.

4. Add whole milk and vanilla extract. Fold until combined.

5. Pour into the pan and bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.

6. Poke holes in the cake using a fork all over the top.

7. Whisk together evaporated milk, condensed milk, and 1/2 cup heavy cream.

8. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.

9. Beat remaining 1 cup heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

10. Spread whipped topping over the cake.

11. Dust with cinnamon, garnish with strawberries or mint. Slice and serve chilled.
