Ingredients

10 cups cubed rustic bread, toasted

1 cup chopped onion

1 cup chopped celery

1/2 cup unsalted butter

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage

1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary

1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups vegetable or chicken broth

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast for 20–25 minutes until lightly golden and dry.

2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and celery, cooking until softened, about 10 minutes.

3. Add garlic and chopped herbs. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

4. In a large bowl, combine toasted bread with sautéed veggies.

5. Slowly pour in broth, tossing until bread is evenly coated but not soggy.

6. Season with salt and pepper.

7. Transfer stuffing to a greased 9×13 baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

8. Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy on top.

Notes

For extra crunch, broil the top for 2–3 minutes after baking.

Can be assembled the day before and baked fresh.
