It’s beginner-friendly, quick to prepare, and perfect for anyone who loves classic American cookies with a creamy twist.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar packed

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups powdered sugar

3 tablespoons milk

1 cup chopped peanuts

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully combined.

6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.

7. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.

8. In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth to form a glaze.

9. Spread glaze over cooled cookies and immediately sprinkle with chopped peanuts.

10. Allow glaze to set before serving.

Notes

Be sure the cookies are completely cool before adding the glaze. If they’re even slightly warm, the glaze will melt and slide off instead of setting into a smooth, creamy layer.
