1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

For the Topping:

1 cup pecan halves, toasted

1 large banana, sliced

1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Cream butter, oil, and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one by one, then vanilla.
  4. Stir in mashed bananas and sour cream. Fold in dry mix gently.
