2 ½ cups granulated sugar
½ cup light corn syrup
½ cup water
2 large egg whites, room temperature
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
½ cup crushed peppermint candies or pecans (optional)

Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and prepare two spoons for scooping.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir to dissolve sugar.
