Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
8 ounces penne pasta
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
0.5 teaspoon salt
0.25 teaspoon black pepper
0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and sautée the diced onion for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Break it up with a spoon and drain any excess fat.
3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and heavy cream. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
4. Fold in the cooked pasta, stirring until coated. Let simmer for another 3–5 minutes.
5. Top with Parmesan cheese if desired and serve hot.
Notes
Make sure not to overcook the pasta so it holds up in the sauce.
You can swap heavy cream for half-and-half to lighten the dish.
