Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
8 ounces wide egg noodles
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 small yellow onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups beef broth
3/4 cup sour cream
4 ounces cream cheese
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, melt butter and olive oil. Sauté onions until soft, about 3 minutes.
3. Add mushrooms and cook until browned and tender, about 5–6 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
4. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables, stir to combine, then slowly pour in beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Simmer for 5 minutes.
5. Lower heat and add sour cream, cream cheese, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until smooth.
6. Return the ground beef to the skillet, mix well, and heat through.
7. In a separate pot, boil egg noodles as directed. Drain and fold into the stroganoff mixture.
8. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
