Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon chili powder (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

½ cup chicken broth or water

½ cup fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped


Instructions

  1. Sauté the aromatics: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until fragrant and softened (about 2 minutes).
  2. Brown the turkey: Add ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until no longer pink (about 5 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, cumin, and chili powder.
  3. Cook the sweet potatoes: Stir in the diced sweet potatoes and pour in the chicken broth. Cover and let simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender.
  4. Finish and serve: Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley or cilantro. Adjust seasoning as needed and serve warm.
