Made with simple ingredients and minimal prep time, this easy recipe is a great go-to when you need food ideas fast. Ideal for anyone seeking breakfast ideas, dinner ideas, or a good old-fashioned easy recipe the whole family will love.

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

3/4 cup buttermilk, cold

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease lightly.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. Cut in cold butter using pastry cutter or fingers until crumbly.

4. Pour in cold buttermilk and mix just until dough forms.

5. Turn dough onto floured surface, pat into rectangle, fold 2–3 times, then roll to 1-inch thick.

6. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter and place on baking sheet, sides touching.

7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden. Brush tops with butter if desired.

Notes

Use very cold butter and buttermilk to achieve those flaky layers.

Do not twist the cutter when shaping the biscuits—this seals the edges and prevents rising.
