Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups pecans
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. In a bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
3. Press crust mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
4. While crust bakes, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
5. Stir in pecans gently to keep them whole.
6. Pour filling over hot crust. Return to oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, until center is set.
7. Let bars cool completely before slicing. Chill for cleaner cuts if needed.
Notes
For clean slicing, chill the bars before cutting with a sharp knife.
Lightly toasting the pecans beforehand boosts the flavor even more.
