Ingredients
8 mozzarella string cheese sticks
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
2 tbsp Nashville hot seasoning mix (paprika, cayenne, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt)
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
Vegetable oil for frying
Dipping sauces: ranch, spicy mayo, honey mustard, cheese dip
Chopped parsley or chives (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Freeze mozzarella sticks for 30–45 minutes to keep them firm during cooking.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, seasoning mix, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix well.
- Flatten a handful of the beef mixture in your palm, place a frozen cheese stick in the center, and wrap the beef around it completely. Repeat.
- Chill the wrapped sticks again for 15–20 minutes for best frying results.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
