Ingredients
1 lb penne pasta
1/2 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into strips
1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
1 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
1 small onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the penne in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large pot. Season steak with salt, pepper, and half the Cajun seasoning. Sear for 2–3 minutes per side, then remove.
- Sear the sausage slices until browned, then remove and set aside.
- Lower heat to medium. Melt butter and sauté diced onion until soft. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Stir in smoked paprika and remaining Cajun seasoning.
- Add beef broth to deglaze the pot. Stir in heavy cream and BBQ sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add pasta, steak, and sausage back into the pot. Stir in Parmesan and cook 2–3 more minutes.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
