Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
1 cup powdered sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice for glaze
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves for glaze
1 tablespoon finely grated orange zest for topping
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Whisk together the flour baking powder baking soda salt and ground cloves in a medium bowl.
3. In a separate large bowl beat the softened butter granulated sugar and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
4. Mix in the orange zest egg vanilla and orange juice until the batter looks creamy and smooth.
5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in two additions mixing just until a soft dough forms.
6. Cover the bowl and chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes so the cookies bake thick and tender.
