1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup (or maple syrup)
1 loaf French bread, sliced into 1-inch thick slices

1 1/2 cups half-and-half
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
