Ingredients
3 to 4 pounds chuck roast
1 packet onion soup mix
1 cup beef broth
2 medium yellow onions, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon oil
Instructions
1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Pat chuck roast dry, season with salt and pepper, and sear on all sides until browned.
3. Place sliced onions and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
4. Add the browned roast on top of the onions.
5. Sprinkle onion soup mix evenly over the roast.
6. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce around the meat (not on top).
7. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, or until roast is fork-tender.
8. Remove roast and shred with two forks.
9. Stir the onion gravy in the crockpot and spoon over shredded meat when serving.
