Ingredients

1 box strawberry cake mix

2 large eggs

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

1/4 cup mashed fresh strawberries or strawberry preserves

For the glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp mashed strawberries

1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

A pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease an 8×8 baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix cake mix, eggs, oil, vanilla, and mashed strawberries until thick and well combined.
  3. Spread batter evenly in the pan and smooth the top.
