Ingredients
4 black tea bags
1 pound fresh strawberries
1 cup sugar
5 cups water (4 for tea, 1 for syrup)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
Ice for serving

Instructions
1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 4 black tea bags, remove from heat, and steep for 10–15 minutes. Set aside to cool.
2. In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup water. Simmer for 10–12 minutes, mashing as they soften.
3. Strain the strawberry syrup using a mesh sieve. Press gently to extract all juice.
4. Combine cooled tea and strawberry syrup in a pitcher. Add lemon juice if desired. Chill thoroughly.
5. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh sliced strawberries.
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor and color.
Make the syrup ahead of time and refrigerate for up to a week.
