This hearty favorite wraps seasoned ground beef, veggies, and savory gravy inside flaky, golden puff pastry—perfect for anyone looking for quick dinner ideas, food inspiration, or satisfying comfort meals. It’s a timeless crowd-pleaser, ideal for easy dinner nights, family gatherings, or cozy winter meals. Packed with protein and rich flavor, this dish also fits the bill for meal prep lovers, classic home cooks, and those after new savory pie recipes.

Ingredients

250g ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium carrot, diced

100g peas

150ml beef stock

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

2 sheets puff pastry, thawed

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.

2. Add chopped onion, garlic, carrots, and peas. Cook until softened.

3. Stir in tomato paste, flour, and Worcestershire sauce.

4. Pour in beef stock and simmer until the mixture thickens. Let it cool slightly.

5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

6. Roll out puff pastry. Line the base of your baking tin with one sheet.

7. Spoon in the filling and top with the second pastry sheet.

8. Crimp edges to seal and brush the top with egg wash.

9. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.

10. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

To keep your crust flaky, make sure the puff pastry stays cold until it hits the oven.

Add a pinch of rosemary or thyme for a deeper herbaceous flavor.
