Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box: eggs, oil, water)

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 jar (12 oz) caramel sauce

1 cup chopped pecans

1 can (16 oz) coconut-pecan frosting

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate (optional for garnish)

Extra pecans for topping

Instructions

  1. Bake the Cake: Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and bake as directed. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Poke Holes: Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke evenly spaced holes across the cake. Ensure they are deep enough to absorb the filling.
  3. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk and Caramel: Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, followed by the caramel sauce. Let the cake rest for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. Spread Frosting: Evenly spread the coconut-pecan frosting across the cake.
  5. Prepare Ganache: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth and creamy. Pour the ganache over the cake and spread gently.
  6. Add Toppings: Sprinkle chopped pecans and dark chocolate pieces (if desired) on top. Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving
