Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

1 1/4 cups granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows

3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl, stir in sugar, and mix until glossy.

3. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, and salt.

5. Gradually stir dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.

6. Fold in half of the chocolate chips and all of the chopped nuts.

7. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.

8. Bake for 20-22 minutes.

9. Remove from oven, sprinkle marshmallows and remaining chocolate chips on top.

10. Return to oven for 5 minutes until marshmallows are puffed.

11. Cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

Let brownies cool completely before slicing to avoid marshmallow mess.

Swap nuts with crushed pretzels or leave out for a nut-free version.
