Ingredients

  • 250 g kunafa dough (kataifi)
  • 150 g butter (melted)
  • 200 g semi-sweet or dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 80 g crushed pistachios
  • 120 ml sugar syrup
  • 1 tsp rose water or orange blossom water (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter and toss it with the kunafa dough until well coated.
  • Grease a baking dish and spread half of the kunafa dough, pressing gently to form a base.
  • Heat heavy cream until it just simmers, then pour over chopped chocolate and stir into a smooth ganache.
  • Spread the ganache over the kunafa base and sprinkle crushed pistachios.
  • Cover with the rest of the kunafa dough, pressing lightly.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Drizzle warm sugar syrup over the hot kunafa.
  • Top with extra pistachios and rose petals if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm for the best texture. Reheat leftovers in the oven to keep them crispy.
